For the past four years, the broadcasting class at Jackson Academy has produced a commercial for the JA Campus Store, and this year was no different. The class produced a holiday-themed ad for the store for the month of December.
Jackson Academy’s volleyball team and fans enjoyed a spectacular season, culminating in the MAIS Overall Volleyball Championship last semester, which marked the eighth state title since volleyball began at JA in the 2011-12 school year. Jackson Academy Head of School Palmer Kennedy announced Friday that Marcy McDonald of Jackson will lead the Lower School beginning June 1, 2023. McDonald will fill the role currently held by Head of Lower School Sarah Love, who retires at the end of this academic year.
The first grade had its annual Grinch Day Monday. The young students, dressed in their best Grinch and Christmas outfits,. started the day off with coloring and writing on a heart “What is love to you?”
At Christmas, thoughts turn to others in the spirit of giving. Jackson Academy seeks to foster this spirit of caring for others year-round. The school provides ample opportunities for students to participate in service.
This morning Jackson Academy trustees, faculty, staff, and students gathered for a celebration. The groundbreaking for expanding the Middle School is part of JA’s multi-phase facilities master plan that launched in August 2022 with infrastructure improvements.
A Candyland fantasy greeted excited preschool-age students Thursday evening at Jackson Academy. More than 250 current and prospective families gathered at the Administration parking lot to enter the school, recreated into a wonderland of festive stations offering sweet treats, holiday character greetings, and fun activities.
Alpha and Omega buddies, dressed in their holiday pajamas, chatted about their Christmas break plans over milk and cookies. After their sweet treats, buddies moved into the PAC to watch “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.”
Addi Roberts signed to continue her soccer journey at Holmes Community College. Addi is the daughter of Stacy and James Roberts. She has been a member of the Jackson Academy soccer team for six years and a varsity starter for the last four years. Addi is also involved in the track and field team, throwing shot put and discus. This year Addi won a state championship in shot put.
