Sixth Graders Create Infographics on the Dangers of Binge-Watching

What is an infographic? According to Dictionary.com, an infographic is “a visual image, such as a chart or diagram used to represent information or data.” Students in sixth grade literature recently read an article published in Scholastic Scope magazine titled The Truth About Binge-Watching. After reading the article, the students created infographics communicating what they learned about binge-watching.

Competition and Creativity Highlight Enthusiasm for STEM in Lower School

Spring break was one hour away as third graders made their way into the activities building to watch three teams compete in the final round of the third grade coding competition. Lower School STEM Teacher Cliff Powers welcomed family members who joined the audience of students and described the rules of the competition before announcing the beginning of the race for first place.

JA Distance Learning Goes Live

Monday, JA students joined teachers and fellow students in Google Meet sessions, viewed video devotionals to begin their day, and began working through carefully prepared lesson plans. Technology use in the classroom has been a priority of Jackson Academy for years, and those years of preparation have made the school uniquely structured to make the best of the situation presented by COVID-19. Online learning will be a blended model of new and traditional learning strategies.
