K2 Uniform Guidelines
All uniforms are purchased at the JA Campus Store, except where indicated.
Girls
Daily Uniforms:
- JA monogrammed ruffled striped dress
- JA monogrammed striped top (long sleeve)
- Striped shorts
- Striped leggings
- JA monogrammed light blue top (short sleeve or long sleeve)
- JA monogrammed bloomers
Boys
Daily Uniforms:
- JA monogrammed white shirt
- JA monogrammed striped polo (short sleeve or long sleeve)
- Light blue shorts
- Light blue pants
- Elastic waist khaki shorts (Lands’ End)
Outerwear
Girls and Boys:
- Widgeon fleece jacket with hood – light blue
- Crew sweatshirt with JA logo in blue pinstripe – light blue
- White cotton cardigan (girls only)
Other
Girls and Boys:
- SHOES: White, gray, or blue tennis shoes, “Walking” shoes are allowed if needed
- SOCKS: White socks only
K3 and K4 Uniform Guidelines
All uniforms are purchased at the JA Campus Store, except where indicated.
Girls
Must Have:
- One Peter Pan collared monogrammed blouse – white
- One gingham jumper
- One pair of Monkeybar Buddies shorts – light blue OR eyelet JA monogrammed bloomers
Daily Uniforms:
- Peter Pan collared JA monogrammed blouse (short sleeve or long sleeve) – white
- Gingham jumper
- JA applique ruffled t-shirt (short sleeve or long sleeve) – white
- Gingham pants with ruffle
- Gingham shorts with ruffle
- Cotton leggings – white
- Monkeybar Buddies shorts – light blue
- Eyelet JA monogrammed bloomers
- Cardigan sweater with JA logo – white

Boys
Must Have:
- One JA monogrammed white polo shirt
- One pair of gingham pants or shorts OR Land’s End only elastic waist khaki shorts or pants

Girls and Boys:

- Pippers full snap lightweight jacket – white
- Full-zip jacket/sweatshirt with hood – light blue
- Hooded pullover sweatshirt – light blue
- Crew sweatshirt with JA logo – light blue
Other
Girls and Boys:
- SHOES: White, gray, or blue tennis shoes (Velcro is REQUIRED)
- SOCKS: White socks only
K5-Fifth Uniform Guidelines
The Dress Uniform must be worn in its entirety on days set aside by the administration as “Dress Uniform Day.” Other school days, students may wear the dress uniform, optional uniform items, or a combination of uniform items.
Girls
- Girls’ uniform skirts should be worn with modesty shorts and worn at an appropriate, modest length. The school reserves the right to suggest lengthening the skirt or skort if length is too short.
- Hair Accessories such as bows, headbands, and barrettes should be JA school colors—navy, white, or silver/grey—or neutral colors (black, beige, brown). Hair accessories may not be a distraction. No “hair wraps,” glitter hair, unnatural colored hair, beads, feathers, bandanas or other unusual additions may be added to girls’ hair.
- White, navy or black solid socks, tights, or leggings must be worn at all times.
- Any undergarments worn under a blouse or shirt should be solid white.
Boys
- We encourage shirts to be tucked into pants or shorts.
- Solid white, navy, or gray short sleeve undershirts may be worn under the dress and optional shirts.
- Solid white, navy, gray, or black socks must be worn and visible at all times.
- No unusual haircuts or unnatural colored hair is allowed.
Other
Shoe Requirements
- All Girls’ and Boys’ shoes must have soft soles. Shoes must be suitable for play and P.E.
- All shoes must have closed toes, low heels and closed heels.
- Shoes may have Velcro straps instead of shoelaces. No “fashion” shoelaces will be permitted.
- Shoes should be in good condition.
- Tennis shoes may be worn every day. (Must be acceptable for P.E.)
Girls’ Shoes
Students may choose from the following types of shoes:
- a navy or black loafer style, or
- a navy, white, or black Mary Jane style, or
- a saddle Oxford (navy/white or black/white), or
- a navy or black closed-heel Merrell style, or
- a navy or black Toms style shoe, or
- tennis shoes—solid blue, gray, white, black, or a combination of those colors (Must be acceptable for P.E.)
Boys’ Shoes
Students may choose from the following types of shoes:
- a lace-up brown Oxford style, or
- a lace-up brown Topsider style, or
- a lace-up Wallaby style, or
- a dark or light brown closed-heel Merrell style, or
- a brown loafer style, or
- tennis shoes—solid blue, gray, white, black, or a combination of those colors (Must be acceptable for P.E.)
Sixth-Twelfth Uniform Guidelines
The Dress Uniform must be worn in its entirety on Chapel days and those set aside by the administration as “Dress Uniform Day.” Other school days, students may wear the dress uniform, optional uniform items, or a combination of uniform items.
Girls
- Girls’ uniform skirts should be worn with modesty shorts and worn at an appropriate, modest length. The school reserves the right to suggest lengthening the skirt or skort if length is too short.
- It is strongly encouraged to wear modesty shorts with skirts.
- No oversized sweatshirts are to be worn.
- No hoodies or unipocket outerwear are to be worn on Monday through Thursday.
- Hair Accessories such as bows, headbands, and barrettes should be JA school colors—navy, white, or silver/gray—or neutral colors(black, beige, brown). No“hair wraps,” glitter hair, beads, feathers, bandanas or other unusual additions may be added to girls’ hair.
- No colored undergarments should be seen under the uniform.
- Solid white, navy, gray, or black socks should be worn. Black or navy tights/form-fitting leggings with socks must be worn and visible at all times on cold weather days.
Boys
- All shirts must be tucked in to pants or shorts at all times.
- No hoodies or unipocket outerwear are to be worn on Monday through Thursday.
- Solid white, gray, or navy short sleeve undershirts may be worn under the shirts.
- Solid white, navy, gray, or black socks must be worn and visible at all times.
Other
Shoe Requirements
- All girls’ and boys’ shoes must have closed toes, low heels and closed heels.

- Boys may wear brown boots with Lands’ End uniform pants. (Seventh-twelfth grades only)

K5-Twelfth Uniform Requirements
Girls
Designated Dress Day Uniform – Lands’ End School Uniforms
- Skirt—navy plaid, box pleat
- Skort—navy plaid, chino
- Skort—navy plaid, side pleat
- Polo—navy short or long sleeve (monogrammed with JA logo on collar)
- Blouse (12th grade only)—girls’ style white oxford, short or long sleeve (monogrammed with JA crest on collar) or boys’ style white oxford shirt (monogrammed with JA crest on collar)
- Modesty shorts—navy knit, to be worn with skirt
- Socks—plain, solid white, navy, black or gray*
Alternate Daily Uniform Items (Lands’ End School Uniforms)
Any combination of the Designated Dress Day uniform with the following:
- Dress Pants—gray chinos, plain front
- Jumper (K5 and first grade only)—navy plaid; must include modesty shorts & any K5 JA uniform blouse
- Girls interlock polo knit dress (K5 and first grade only)—navy, short sleeve or long sleeve (monogrammed with JA logo)
- Polo knit blouse—navy, short or long sleeve (monogrammed with JA logo on collar)
- Polo knit blouse with Peter Pan collar (K5 only)—navy, short or long sleeve (monogrammed with JA logo on collar)
- Blouse with Peter Pan collar (K5 only) —white, woven, short or long sleeve (monogrammed with JA logo on collar)
- Blouse—white, woven, short or long sleeve (monogrammed with JA logo on collar)
- Turtleneck—navy (monogrammed with JA logo)
- Active Polo shirt—navy (monogrammed with JA logo on collar)
- Tights—white, navy, black, gray opaque*
- Leggings —white, navy, black, or gray opaque*
*Girls must wear socks, tights or leggings with socks at all times.

- Shirt—navy collared polo, short or long sleeve (monogrammed with JA logo)
- Shirt (12th grade only)—blue oxford, button down, long sleeve (monogrammed with JA crest, Senior tie and/or sport coat will be required on certain dress days)
- Belt—brown leather (belts are optional in K5-fifth grades)
- Socks—plain, solid white, navy, black or gray
Alternate Daily Uniform Items (Lands’ End School Uniforms)
Any combination of the Designated Dress Day uniform with the following:
- Khaki Shorts (seventh-twelfth grades)
- Shirt—navy collared polo, short or long sleeve (monogrammed with JA logo)
- Shirt—blue oxford, button down, long sleeve (seventh-twelfth grades, monogrammed with JA logo)
- Turtleneck—navy (monogrammed with JA logo)
- Polo Shirt (ninth-twelfth grades only)—Genteal polo shirt monogrammed with JA or JA crest (crest is for 12th grade only) – available in the JA Campus Store
- Belt—brown leather (belts are optional in K5-fifth grades)

Outerwear for All
- Although outerwear is not required, any sweaters, jackets or coats worn during the school day must be approved JA outerwear that is available on the Lands’ End website.
- Outerwear, when worn, must be over an appropriate JA uniform.
- Other approved outerwear items may be purchased in the JA Campus Store. Approved outerwear items will differ by division. Please note: All approved Lower School outerwear items are solid navy, white, or gray in color.
- Optional: The JA Campus Store will monogram the student name, for a fee, on any approved outerwear purchased in the store. This is the only personal monogram allowed on JA outerwear.
