The Jackson Academy Association opened the new school year with a festive event for parents and friends that harkened back to the Roaring Twenties. As guests entered the Country Club of Jackson for A Blue & White Night, they received pearl-colored flapper necklaces and tickets for table games. White, blue, and silver tablescapes were accented with white feathers and candlelight.
More than 400 people attended the Saturday evening event, which included a silent auction featuring creative work by area artists and students, clothing, travel packages, decor, catering packages, collectibles, jewelry, and many other items. Funds from sponsorships and the silent auction are invested directly into projects benefiting JA students, staff, and facilities.
The event chairs were Leslie Henson and Lorraine Boykin. Overseeing the operations of the parent organization for the 2022-23 school year is JAA president Stephanie Maley. The generous support of sponsors, auction donors, and True Blue Raiders helps make A Blue & White Night possible.
ABWN is an annual event that began in 2014 to bring the JA community together to kick off the school year. The JAA is the parent association of the school. All parents are members of the JAA and are invited to volunteer with the parent organization throughout the year. For more information about the JAA, visit https://jacksonacademy.org/jaa/.
