The Mississippi Health Care Foundation helps bridge the gap between the quality of care provided in nursing home facilities and those special emotional and physical needs not covered by insurance, Medicare, Medicaid or even family members. This month, the Jackson Academy Service Club helped to collect items for the MHCA Foundation.
Crystal Gao and Morgan Cheatham took the lead with this special project. Items collected will be going to residents who receive few visits, if any. Items collected include activity books, such as crossword puzzles or adult coloring books, and colored pencils. Hygiene items, such as shaving cream, toothbrushes, lotion, and toothpaste were other items requested for residents. Crystal and Morgan packaged items for 13 residents.
