The Jackson Academy Equestrian Team concluded its competition season this weekend at Nationals in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Since August, the 2021-2022 equestrian team has been prepping for its year-long season.

Malinda Battey, Executive Director for the MathCounts program was on campus Thursday to recognize Jack Voyles as a Top 10 State Finalist in a math competition held this spring.
Jackson Academy’s band returned from its Smoky Mountain excursion with three first-place trophies and an abundance of great experiences. The trip centered around the Smoky Mountain Music Festival where the band captured top awards in concert, marching, color guard categories.

Jackson Academy’s show choirs, Showtime and Encore, recently concluded their competition season. Over the past three months, the groups have traveled and competed against some of the top show choirs in the state, the Southeast, and the country, finding success at all levels of competition.
There are two mindsets within Carol D. Dweck, Ph.D.’s mindset theory: fixed and growth. At its most basic level, a fixed mindset means that a person believes that people’s qualities are unchangeable or “fixed.” The growth mindset opposes this view, stating that time and effort can cultivate people’s qualities. These mindsets impact every person daily and influence how they view themselves, others, and their activities.
